I heard a voice in the distance It was calling “Help me please!” Through the chaos and mayhem Through the hell God’s men unleashed So I clambered across the wreckage Scrambled through barbed wire Summoned every ounce of courage And sprinted through the fire Until I saw her lying there With a voice of sorrow and dread She cried “You’ve come too late for me” And that was all she said.
